“Blood will have Blood, the high will fall, the ghosts of men who died for nothing will walk and wail by a ruined wall”.
Intrigue and violence combine in a play that is both thrillingly theatrical and frightening in the way that it mirrors today’s political poison.
Agamemnon's wife, Clytemnestra, filled with need for justice and the desire for vengeance, whispers conspiracies in back rooms and dark hallways against him for the brutal sacrifice of her daughter to the gods. She patiently waits for her husband’s fateful return to a nation torn apart by horror and sorrow of war.
Agamemnon’s return to Argus with his surviving troops is welcomed back with pomp, from the carnage of war. As the drama unfolds, The Herald bears witness to absurd bloodshed, a city questions the stupidity and waste of the decade-long war, and a family turns the cruelty of war in on itself.
